Hudson Bend Middle School is a community where all learners are known by name and need.
 
HBMS is a learner-centered school that empowers all students to develop strong character, leadership, and academic excellence.
 
The curriculum is designed around the core academic classes of mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies.  Students may select on level academic or Honors classes.  The elective curriculum offers a broad array of course offerings. Depending on the grade level, electives including art, athletics/preathletics, band, choir, dance, Gifted and Talented Discovery, orchestra, physical education, theatre arts, broadcast, Spanish and yearbook, and many Career Technology Electives (CTE). Several classes offer high school credit. 
 
Students at all grade levels have the opportunity to participate in University Interscholastic League academic competition, student council, National Junior Honor Society, and other faculty-sponsored clubs.  UIL athletics is offered in Grades 7 and 8.  Students may compete in football, volleyball, basketball, cross country, track and field, soccer, tennis, and golf.
 
Built in 2000, HBMS currently serves around  871 students.
