Angela Carey

6th Grade A-J and 8th Grade Counselor

Hi! I'm so excited to join the HBMS Buccaneers as a campus school counselor. With 25 years of experience in public education, I've had the privilege of serving as a high school career exploration teacher and middle school counselor. My goal is to provide a positive and supportive environment for all students and their families.

I'm a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, and received my Master's in Education with a Major in Counseling and Guidance from Texas State University. In my free time, I love to travel with my family and spend time outdoors. I am looking forward to a fantastic school year and being a part of the LT community.

6th Grade K-Z and 7th Grade Counselor

I am thrilled to be part of the Hudson Bend Middle School community and to help make our school a true home away from home for every student! During the school year, students spend most of their waking hours at school, so I believe it is incredibly important to create an environment where EVERY student feels safe, welcomed, valued, and connected. 

I grew up in Double Bayou, Texas, and graduated from Anahuac High School. While in school, I was actively involved in marching band, theatre, cross country, golf, and student government - experiences that helped shape my love for working with students and being part of a strong school community. 

I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Houston and my Master of Arts in Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I began my career as a World History teacher before becoming a school counselor, serving students at both the middle and high school levels in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, Klein ISD, and Austin ISD before joining Lake Travis ISD. 

Outside of school, I enjoy hiking with my family, playing mahjong, reading a great book, and traveling whenever I can. I'm also a fan of reality competition shows like Survivor and Big Brother, and I love watching just about anything historical.
