Hudson Bend Middle School Student Council

Mission Statement

Hudson Bend Student Council will strive to enrich the experience of Hudson Bend students and staff through promoting school spirit, voicing student’s opinions, organizing student activities, and providing leadership opportunities outside the classroom.

Membership
Membership will be available to all Hudson Bend students. New members must submit an information form at the beginning of the school year. Members must conform to all Hudson Bend rules regarding participation in extracurricular activities, grades, and code of conduct.

Elections
Depending on the needs of the students and the student council each year, elections will be held after students are assigned their committees as we see fit. Each committee will elect a committee chair and those committee chairs will be considered our leaders of student council. At any point, if the sponsors feel these committee chairs are unable to meet the needs of the committee, they may be asked to step down and a new committee chair will be elected. Each committee will also have a secretary that will aid the chair and will be responsible for the same expectations.

Student Positions and Responsibilities

Senior Advisor
The senior advisor will be in charge of daily operations, meet with Teacher Advisor and all officer positions, open meetings and attend all Friday meetings. 

President
The president will be in charge of hosting the meetings, attends the Friday meetings, and is there to listen to the people and represent all students as the head of Student Council. 

Vice President
The vice president will take over for the president when they are not there to run meetings. They attend Friday meetings

Secretary
The secretary will help out the president and vice president, observe meetings and attend Friday meetings. 

Treasurer
The treasurer will supervise meetings, attend Friday meetings, and help the teacher buy materials for upcoming events. 

Historian
The historian will maintain meeting minutes, host an instagram account for upcoming events, and attend Friday meetings.

Members of Student Council
All members will be asked to make sure they follow through with the things they say they are going to do and keep up with grades and behavior in school. We appreciate the help our STUCO members give us and want to make sure we can rely on them!

Removal from STUCO
An officer and/or member may be fired/removed from the organization by the advisor if attendance standards, behavior standards and/or expectations set by the school are not maintained or responsibilities are not met.
